Working with trans and gender-diverse clients in today’s sociopolitical climate means holding extraordinary contrasts; moments of deep joy and liberation alongside grief, rage, and fear. Clinicians are often quietly absorbing the weight of this collective trauma while also witnessing breathtaking resilience.

This training explores how the emotional landscape of gender-affirming work impacts the clinician’s mind, body, and spirit. Through reflection, discussion, and experiential practices, participants will examine vicarious trauma and vicarious resilience as dual forces shaping their capacity to stay present and sustainable in this work.
We’ll move beyond traditional notions of self-care into sustainable care; meaning-making, and embodied strategies for navigating both the horror and the hope.

This training is pending approval for 3 cultural competency CEC's through NASW/CT

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify at least three ways in which their work with transgender and gender diverse clients has impacted their professional identity and clinical practice.
  2. Demonstrate two concrete strategies for managing vicarious trauma while maintaining therapeutic presence in gender-affirming care.
  3. Develop a personalized sustainability plan that includes specific boundary-setting practices, self-care rituals, and/or professional support mechanisms.

Please register mindfully, as refunds will not be issued. Payments must be received within 24 hours of registration to hold your spot.

Registration includes access to the live webinar, as well as supplemental learning materials to help you continue in this important work after this training.  And finally, a portion of every registration will be donated to Advocates for Trans Equality, an organization that fights for the legal and political rights of transgender people in America.
