I believe that when people live in their true identities, they come alive and inspire others to do the same. As such, Transitions Therapy LLC is driven by a mission to help people uncover and connect to their authentic selves, in an inviting and affirming environment.
Therapy can be scary. You’re probably struggling with thoughts and fears that you’re not comfortable sharing with anyone in your personal life. And now, you’re thinking about trusting a complete stranger with this information, in the hopes that it will leave you feeling better. That can feel terrifying. You’re feeling vulnerable, and you’re really hoping that this giant leap of faith is worth it. It better be worth it, cause if it’s not, you might not ever try out this therapy thing again.
I get it. Really, I do.
I could list off all my credentials, my training and my experience here, but I intentially don’t do that here. Because I believe wholeheartedly that when people are hurting, they’re looking at a therapists’s website to get a sense of whether or not that person understands their pain; not looking to get a detailed listing of someone’s credentials, professional memberships, and education. Suffice it to say, I have substantial experience and specialized training in serving the transgender community because I believe passionately in helping people discover themselves. I am dedicated to continually educating myself on how to best serve transgender identified people and their loved ones. If you’d like more specific information about my experience, please feel free to ask during our consultation call.
Back to what’s important. You’re struggling and you’re looking for the right person to help you.
I want you to know that you matter, and that you deserve to live your life with a clear sense of your identity. You deserve to live a life that feels authentic to you; whatever that looks like. You deserve a therapist who’s down to earth, warm, and affirming. Someone who offers a space free of judgment and shame. Someone who will treat your hurts, fears and pains with the reverence they deserve, balanced with a touch of humor because, well, laughter heals.
The approach that I use in my therapy helps people to uncover the relationships between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in their everyday experiences. This awareness helps people to get a better sense of themselves, and how they want to express that. This leads to healing relationships, decreased uncertainty, and increased confidence.
