In this interactive 2 part live webinar you’ll be given a foundational knowledge of providing affirming, inclusive and compassionate mental health services to the transgender community. This training has been developed to include actionable information that you can start to use with gender diverse clients across the life span. By registering for this event, you are registering for both sessions! They will take place on May 12th from 8 AM to 12 PM and May 19th from 1 PM to 5 PM. 

Part 1 covers differences between gender and sex, an exploration of gender identities, expression as existing on a spectrum rather than a binary, social, legal, and medical transition options, clinical issues that come up at specific ages/stages of life amongst gender diverse clients, as well as gender identity development.

In Part 2, we’ll explore more in depth how to support clients through various steps of social, legal and medical transition, including providing assessments and letters of support for clients seeking gender-affirming surgeries.

Registration includes access to the live webinar sessions, as well as supplemental learning materials to help you continue in this important work after this training.  Eligible providers will receive 8 Cultural Competency CEC’s through NASW/CT upon completion of this webinar and post-training survey. Eligible providers: LMSW's, LCSW's, LMFT's, LPC's, and Licensed Psychologists in CT, MA and RI
